Technical Business Analyst and Project Manager

Department: Project Management Office

Salary: $45,000 to $50,000 depending on experience.

At Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we raise funds and awareness for local children’s hospitals across North America. We believe that by changing kids’ health we can change the future. To meet these ambitious goals, we develop international partnerships and fundraising programs to raise the critical funds hospitals need to provide state-of-the-art medical care for kids. As a member of our team, you’ll play a significant role in helping 10 million sick and injured kids every year.

The Technical Business Analyst and Project Manager (BA/PM) would oversee and facilitate software development on the scrum teams that they work with. BA/PM should be a self-starter and execute responsibilities within the role with limited guidance from their manager. The position is a blended role of project manager, product owner and business analyst. This includes being the liaison between the business units and the scrum team utilizing strong problem-solving skills for complex issues. The responsibilities for this position include working with the users to understand upcoming needs, aggregating those needs, writing user stories, and prioritizing items through the software development process. This position would assist other PM/BAs that may need assistance in completing their projects.


The Essential Work You Will Do

  • Providing administrative guidance on project execution with stakeholders, business owner, and technical staff

  • Carry out execution of the project in accordance of the PMO process with the specifications of the business owner and the VP of the PMO and assist other PMs to do so as well

  • Verify that all parts of the project have been completed; including but not limited to project request, project briefs, user stories, demos, QA on product, post-implementation reviews and other relevant responsibilities

  • Carry out demos for stakeholder(s) for the projects being worked on.

  • Identify the root problem that is being presented before “solving it”. Accomplish this through various in-depth questions. Verify that the problem being presented is not just a symptom of another issue

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders/vendors with differing points of views and needs to find a reasonable solution for the problem  identified

  • Organize available team members by talent and skills to complete the requirements of the projects

  • Manage and monitor a monetary budget for the project and validate that against the ROI of the project

  • Authenticate that planned and future projects vs executed projects meet a strategic focus of the organization

  • Act as/or mentor to the team scrum master in removing roadblocks

  • Manage project/product backlog through the refinement process, prioritization and estimation of work

  • Manage scrum artifacts for the team including; sprint planning, demos, sprint retrospectives

  • Build and communication weekly reports for stakeholders and business owners for assigned projects

  • Play an active role in following and providing feedback on the processes that are used by the PMO


Other Work You May Do

  • Lead retrospectives to help the team identify improvements that can be made

  • Facilitate presentations in large and small groups, in-person and/or with remote technology.

  • Support Communication to the entire organization via communication tools

  • Look for ways to minimize overhead while streamlining applications and processes to support organization strategy

  • Manage projects with outside vendors

  • Lead training sessions

  • Demo existing software to stakeholders

  • Travel for conferences to continue learning best practices in software development and agile principals

  • Work hours will vary depending on partner schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the organization.

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of general business and management principles. involved in planning, leadership, fundraising, customer service and coordination of people and resources to meet customer needs.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling the unique fundraising services of CMN Hospitals.

  • 2 + years of relevant experience and/or in combination with a bachelor’s degree is preferred
