About the Position

At Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we raise funds and awareness for local children’s hospitals across North America. We believe that by changing kids’ health we can change the future. To meet these ambitious goals, we develop international partnerships and fundraising programs to raise the critical funds hospitals need to provide state-of-the-art medical care for kids. As a member of our team, you’ll play a significant role in helping 10 million kids who enter a CMN Hospital each year.

As a senior member of the Programs Department, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to your team members and across the department. You will work with senior leadership to define successful peer to peer driven fundraising programs for CMN Hospitals. You are responsible for the oversight of the organization’s P2P fundraising programs through the entire value stream and will work closely with your direct reports to set program strategies based on customer intimate and organizational needs.

This position manages 2 direct reports and is responsible for overseeing the organization’s Dance Marathon and Extra Life fundraising programs which generate nearly $40 million annually.

You will be responsible for leading the teams that are improving and implementing scalable, reliable, secure, and highly performance-based programs to meet the needs of our partners, donors, and hospital customers. You will ensure our fundraising programs roadmaps are flexible to allow for our growth into new and existing business lines through collecting, synthesizing, and incorporating customer feedback and industry trends. This is a strategic role that requires strong short-term and long-term strategic thinking and a high level of partnership with other functions across the organization.

The Essential Work You Will Do

  • Create the programmatic fundraising strategies and vision for the organization’s P2P programs. Represent and communicate program strategy to all stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the lifecycle of the organization’s P2P programs through all phases of the value stream - partnering with senior leaders to translate program vision into strategic and technological business decisions.
  • Develop, manage, and synthesize product roadmaps to communicate key areas of development, delivery and trainings to support the execution of P2P fundraising.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of peer-to-peer campaigns with other fundraising and marketing efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire direct reports to further their professional skillset, maintain high-level of job satisfaction and create additional value to the organization while delivering programs and experiences that satisfy the needs of the organization and its customers.
  • Develop budgets, oversee forecasts, and define key performance metrics to drive program accountability and ownership across departments.
  • Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, presenting findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in peer-to-peer fundraising to identify opportunities for innovation.

Other Work You May Do

  • Represent the organization as an industry thought leader by actively participating in both internal and external conferences, press opportunities & speaking engagements.
  • Serve as a mentor to others in the organization by reinforcing cultural workplace norms and providing guidance when needed.
  • Actively support the program ideation and program components as necessary and appropriate.
  • Support general process development to further provide excellent products and components to the customer team.

Work Environment/Travel

  • Time will be spent in an office setting
  • Work hours will vary depending on partner schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the organization.
  • A willingness and ability to travel 35% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, P2P fundraising, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for building and selling the unique fundraising services of CMN Hospitals.
  • 7 + years of progressive leadership in multiple areas of the organization and/or in combination with a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Advanced degree such as MA, or MBA are typically not required.
