Job Summary:
The Security Specialist I (P1) is an entry-level position within the Network Security team. This role is vital in protecting the organization's digital assets by monitoring for cyber threats, maintaining robust security protocols, and supporting cybersecurity initiatives. The Security Specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security policies, conducts risk assessments, and helps safeguard the network infrastructure against evolving threats. Core Duties:
- Maintain Documentation: Create and update documentation for security protocols, procedures, and standards to align with industry best practices.
- Monitor Threats: Continuously monitor network activity for potential attacks, breaches, or anomalies.
- Support System Updates: Assist in ensuring all systems, applications, and devices have the latest security updates and patches applied.
- Security Incident Response: Participate in the identification and mitigation of security incidents to reduce potential impacts.
- Develop Knowledge: Stay informed on the latest cybercrime tactics, technologies, and trends.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Employee Training: Support the development and delivery of training sessions to raise awareness of phishing and other cyber threats.
- Firewall and Network Testing: Collaborate with the IT team to conduct periodic tests of firewalls and network defenses.
- Threat Analysis: Research and analyze emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and Presentations: Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and present findings to management.
- Policy Compliance: Assist with enforcing security and IT policies across the organization.
- Internal Audits: Participate in routine internal audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Policy Updates: Support updates and revisions of security policies to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate security solutions and services.
- Incident Documentation: Maintain detailed logs and documentation of security incidents, interventions, and resolutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments to ensure comprehensive implementation of security measures.

Salary Range: $42,000 - $48,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
